P& C News
Hello!
The parents and citizens association (P&C) is a group of volunteers from our school community, working with the school to enrich your kids' learning environment. I’m Meg, and I’d like to also introduce you to the other wonderful parents leading our P&C this year - Elaine (Vice-President), Montana (Treasurer), and Sasha (who returns for another year as Secretary).
Thanks to your support, the P&C fundraised around $5,000 for our school last year. With that money we:
Held the recent K-1 Sundowner BBQ.
Have paid for the DJ for the upcoming school disco in June.
Will help the school buy a stage for the kids to use at assemblies.
Will provide an end-of-year donation to the school to help upgrade verandah spaces for classrooms.
Are planning a whole-school family movie night for term 4.
None of these things happen without help from our school community, and we would love to have more parents / grandparents / other community members involved so that we can do more for our kids. Some ways you can help are by:
Joining our Facebook group (Dianella Primary College P&C) for updates, photos, and conversations.
Volunteering your time at our events.
Making a once-off or ongoing cash donation (see the office front desk - all money donated goes back to supporting the kids in our school)!
Coming along to a general meeting to hear what the P&C is planning.
Our next general meeting will be held on Thursday 8 June at 9 am in the Hive (the room at the back of the hall, where breakfast club is usually held). We hope you will join us! If you do, please consider bringing a 50c coin so that you can become a financial member of the P&C. Being a financial member means that you will be able to vote on topics during the general meetings and AGM and make your thoughts count!
Finally, I’d like to extend big thanks to Alex-Ann and all the members of last year’s P&C, who did a wonderful job guiding the P&C in 2022.
