Week 1 Update

Welcome back to all of our families for Term 4. I hope that everyone has had a relaxing and restful holiday break and is ready for the final term of the year. Term 4 is always busy and before we know it we will be at the end of the year!

There has been one or two staff changes over the holidays, Mrs Harper has said farewell as she has headed off on her maternity leave, we wish Kerene all the best for her impending arrival. Ms Shannon Denkha has stepped into the teaching role in Rm 14. Ms Denkha has worked at DPC in a number of different roles and she is very familiar with all of our students.

I would also like to welcome all of our new families who have joined the Dianella PC community this term. At this stage we have welcomed new students across the school and I know that all of our students have certainly made their new classmates feel welcome. It is a very busy term (as usual) and we have lots of activities to look forward to.

Parent Health and Well-being Expo

On Thursday 2 November from 3pm - 4.30pm we will be holding a Parent Health and Well-being Expo. The Expo is an opportunity for children and their parents to participate in a range of activities based around student health and well-being. Teachers have designed activities linked to the WA Health curriculum and identified needs across the school. This is set to be a very informative and practical expo that all families are encouraged to attend.

P & C Movie Night

On Friday 17 November our hard working P&C will be holding an out door family movie night on our school oval. This will be the second time the P&C have held an outdoor movie night and the first time was very popular. More details of movie choice and time will be provided closer to the date, make sure you keep the night free of other commitments, as it is always a very enjoyable evening that you wont want to miss out on.

Activity Groups

Next week our Yr 3-6 students will start participating in our very popular Term 4 activity groups, with some great activities planned. Students were asked to nominate their preferences for activities, with priority going to Yr 6 students. Students can see their assigned activity group below,

Government House Tour

The Governor and Mrs. Dawson invited 13 upcoming year 5 leaders, along with Emmanuela and Logan from the 'Governors Sparks of the Future' program at Dianella Primary College and Merriwa Primary School, to join them for morning tea and a tour of Government House. The tour was led by Emmanuela and Logan with assistance from the Government House staff. They learned about the history of the House, the role of the Governor, and how various unique rooms are currently being used.
