Week 3 Update

Assembly

At last weeks assembly both of our Upper Primary IEC classes, Rm 21 and 19, took over the hosting duties. The students did an outstanding job hosting the assembly and we were all very impressed with their well choreographed dance routine. It is always wonderful to see and hear students who are new to speaking English stand up and confidently speak in front of a large audience, well done Room 21 & 19. During our assemblies we are now also hearing our guitar gang and how well they are progressing with their skills. At each assembly the group accompanies Mrs Davey playing both the birthday song and also Wandjoo, well done ‘guitar gang’ your skills are certainly evident. Congratulations to all of our Honour Certificate winners who were recognised at our assembly for their ongoing positive work at school, please see the full list of students below.

Family Well Being Afternoon - Thursday 2 November

Next Thursday, 2 November we will be holding a family engagement activity around student health and well-being, starting at 3.15. Classroom teachers along with their students have designed different activities around promoting different aspects of health and well-being. Students with their families will be able to visit each of the classroom to learn specific advice on a range of activities, including healthy eating, exercise, staying safe online. There will be two sets of activities, one set specifically aimed for junior students and one set of activities specifically designed for senior students. We will also be having a special visit from Bounce Back bear on the day! We are encouraging as many families as possible to join us on the day. Initial welcome and bag collection will take place in our undercover area straight after school on the day. Looking forward to a very informative and interactive afternoon.

2024

As we are beginning to plan for 2024, I would ask that any families who know they will not be returning to Dianella Primary College next year for any reason to please let us know in the front office. Please either drop into the front office and let the staff know or telephone 9263 5100 or email dianella.pc@education.wa.edu.au so that we can effectively plan our 2024 class structures.

Sparks of the Future

As you may be aware, two of our senior students have been participating in the Governers Sparks of the Future Program. As part of the program Emmanuela and Logan were invited along to Government House t create a behind-the-scenes video of Government House. It is both very informative and entertaining, well done Emmanuela and Logan. Click on the link below to to watch the video. For any families that are interested, Government House will be holding an open weekend, this coming weekend. Families will be able to walk through the house, participate in free fun kids activities, hear about special forces, and visit many stalls. Emmanuela and Logan will be on hosting duties on Sunday.
